Stereophile reviews David Sanford’s ‘A Prayer For Lester Bowie’
Stereophile has reviewed the new album from David Sanford Big Band!
Writer Fred Kaplan, who has a great ear for sound, gives the recording quality four starts and says: “the sound is clear, balanced, and spread out on a spacious soundstage, with wide dynamic range.” He rates the music itself four and half stars and calls the album, “the most adventurous big band album I’ve heard in some time, combining jazz, avant-garde classical, blues, R&B, and probably other strands that I’ll detect after a few more listens.”
You can read the full interview in the December issue of the magazine, available here. The album is available to purchase and stream here.
