Mareike Wiening releases title track “Reveal” from upcoming album

“Reveal” is an energetic swing composition inspired by the Jazz Messengers and Max Roach. Trumpeter Dave Douglas’ virtuosic, dynamic presence elevates the piece to new heights, leaving a powerful ensemble impression. Wiening says, “The melody had been lingering in my mind for quite some time. The art of composing can be intricate and multi-layered, making it challenging to arrive at a definitive conclusion. Yet, this very complexity adds depth and nuance to the piece.”
Completing the sextet lineup for this track alongside Wiening and Douglas are tenor saxophonist Rich Perry, pianist Glenn Zaleski, guitarist Alex Goodman, and bassist Johannes Felscher.
