Best Wishes for the Season

Despite everything, Greenleaf Music continues producing and releasing the music we believe in.

We take heart in the community of musicians who have proven so resilient in 2020. It is in times of challenge that we rise to the occasion and pull together. It is cause for optimism that so many have done so.

We are continuing to make new work and expand our community and message. We are grateful for your eyes and ears. In this broad community of great artists and great labels, we truly feel a part of something bigger. We all rise when we all pitch in and deepen our cultural visions and values.

Subscribers enjoyed lots of special Greenleaf Music this year, including live chats and music, access to my album, Marching Music with Rafiq Bhatia, Melvin Gibbs, and Sim Cain, and the new digital only Overcome with Fay Victor, Camila Meza, Ryan Keberle, Jorge Roeder, and Rudy Royston. We also introduced several great new artists to the roster, including Angela Morris and Anna Webber, Manuel Valera, Mike Fahie, and Emi Makabe.

I also enjoyed my conversations with musical artists Jane Ira Bloom, Kyoko Kitamura, Aubrey Johnson, Angela Morris, Regina Carter, Fabian Almazan, Cory Smythe, Jaleel Shaw, Riley Mulherkar, Mike Fahie, Nicholas Payton, and Emi Makabe. This is an ongoing series of conversations in which I learn so much about music, and hope to share with listeners. There are already some conversations ready to go for 2021. We’ll be moving the first 30 episodes onto the Greenleaf Bandcamp Podcast page which will be available to subscribers only.

Lots more coming in 2021, including a bunch of recording I have been doing from home, a Sound Prints album recorded just before the shut down, a solo project, and lots more. Stick with us.

Thanks and hold your loved ones close.

Dave
