‘Overcome’ by Dave Douglas on Rolling Stone ‘Best of 2020’ list
It’s great to see Overcome, the new album from Dave Douglas, included in Rolling Stone‘s ‘Best Jazz Albums of 2020′ feature!
For the last couple of years, writer Hank Shteamer has put together a lengthy year-end compendium of outstanding releases, and this year’s piece does not disappoint! He says of our new release:
Dave Douglas’ Overcome, — a warm and reflective sextet album featuring vocalists Fay Victor and Camila Meza — didn’t fit either template: Recorded entirely remotely during the pandemic, it proved that the collective spirit of jazz can withstand a whole lot.
