Mareike Wiening’s ‘Reveal’ Revealed

Today is the release date for drummer Mareike Wiening’s gorgeous new record Reveal, her third release on Greenleaf Music. The album describes her personal reflection on challenging times and their transformation into something positive. Reveal features Wiening’s quintet with saxophonist Rich Perry, pianist Glenn Zaleski, guitarist Alex Goodman, and bassist Johannes Felscher. Dave Douglas also features on several songs.
The energetic opening track “Time for Priorities” announces Wiening’s optimistic thesis right from the start: dark events should not lead one to give up, but rather to open up and seek the warmth and spirit that music can provide. Multi-faceted and intriguing, moving and exhilarating, Reveal is ultimately exactly what the title promises: a revelation. Available as of today worldwide on CD, digital and streaming.
Mareike Wiening launched her German tour last night in Berlin. The tour continues from November 10-18, 2023 including tonight in Hamburg @ Halle 424 .
