The New York Times, featured a track in their weekly Playlist feature from the new Dave Douglas album Dizzy Atmosphere.

Writer Giovanni Russonello chose the track “Con Almazan” and said this about the album:

“Dave Douglas pays homage through dissection and expansion. By taking elements of Gillespie’s compositions but mostly creating fresh works of his own, and centering the rapport with his five bandmates, Douglas has created a loving tribute with its own liftoff.”
