SHOW: Webber/Morris Big Band plays Prospect Park July 5

The Webber/Morris Big Band is playing an outdoor show in Brooklyn on July 5th!

The groups is an 18-piece ensemble co-led by composer-saxophonists Anna Webber and Angela Morris, who compose vital, innovative repertoire that incorporates a jazz lineage with the extended techniques of modern improvisers and the compositional breadth of new music. Their debut album, Both Are True, was released in April 2020 to great critical acclaim.

For this concert at Prospect Park’s Rose Garden, Anna and Angela will present some recorded works as well as some new music written for the ensemble.The group OLD SALT will open.

To most easily reach the Rose Garden, enter Prospect Park by the new entrance on Flatbush Ave (0.2 miles Southeast of Grand Army Plaza). Follow the paved path to the right, staying near Flatbush inside the park for 2 minutes, then go down the set of wide, shallow cement steps on your left.

Webber/Morris Big Band (WMBB) is an 18-piece ensemble co-led by composer-saxophonists Anna Webber and Angela Morris. Their 2020 album Both Are True (Greenleaf Music) was featured on some best-jazz-of-2020 lists.
