Note from Dave June 29, 2019

Correction June 29: it has been pointed out that the correct pronunciation is mar-EYE-kuh VEEN-ing. We regret the error. As you were.

Update June 30:  Thank you for all your notes and emails. I really appreciate hearing from you. Dave

Hello.

Dave here. Thanks for reading these! And thanks to all of you who mention them in our “in real life” interactions. I appreciate being part of such a vibrant creative community.

First, a new release day for Ryan Keberle, whose The Hope I Hold is a stunningly beautiful recording featuring vocalist and SONY Masterworks artist Camila Meza. Proud to see this one out there and I love the album cover.

Second, I’m taking ENGAGE on the road! Check these European dates with Jeff Parker, Tomeka Reid, Nick Dunston, and Kate Gentile. And dig the new track featuring trumpeter Riley Mulherkar that comes out next week!

Third, a new artist for Greenleaf Music! I am super proud to announce that we will be releasing Metropolis Paradise by the brilliant drummer and composer Mareike Wiening. We have all agreed that the phonetic pronunciation is mar-EYE-kuh WEEN-ing. But please do not hesitate to send us your thoughts on how to say her name. Mareike’s band features Rich Perry, Dan Tepfer, Alex Goodman, and Johannes Felscher and aside from being wonderfully creative players, they have also agreed to hear from you. Can’t wait to share her record with you.

And on any and all other topics. I love hearing from people. Your message comes directly through to me.

And let me remind you to JOIN US by subscribing! This new model is crucial for us and we count on the community to be with us in this endeavor. Thanks to each and every one of you.

Dave.
