Here is “With Your Singing”, the first single from the upcoming album If There Are Mountains by Dave Douglas and Elan Mehler!

Composed by Dave Douglas, “With Your Singing” sets vocalist Dominique Eade with just Simón Willson’s bass at first, then the piano of ensemble co-leader Elan Mehler enters. The arrangement becomes a jazz waltz and gains warmth from the horn section of Douglas with John Gunther on bass clarinet. Douglas and Willson improvise briefly and with tasteful understatement.

Matsuo Bashō (1644-1694), recognized as one of the great haiku masters, wrote the original text.
