The music on Be Still is very personal for me, consisting of hymns and songs requested by my mom for her service last year. It was a heart opening experience to get into these pieces, and even more to have such a great musician in Aoife to sing them. I hope the warmth and commitment of all the musicians on this date will be apparent when you hear the music. The first 100 orders of Be Still in one of these preorder packages will receive a set of photographs related to the album and a free copy of Mountain Passages, the first of my releases on Greenleaf Music, from 2004. I chose Mountain Passages to include with the first 100 orders of Be Still because it had a similar personal meaning for me, eulogizing my father in 2003.

It's a solid 180 grams of wax nested in a gatefold package with free download card. #bestill preorder coming soon.

“You gotta be in a church to play like that,” quipped trumpeter Dave Douglas. Moments earlier on Wednesday night, in the humid basement performance space of St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts — indeed, a decommissioned church — he had drawn listeners close to him with the spare, touching sounds of his muted horn. Beside the American jazz star, Montreal saxophonist Chet Doxas bolstered the patient, powerful mood with his clarinet. The reedman’s brother Jim Doxas at the drums and electric bassist Steve Swallow, the quartet’s éminence grise, moved the music forward.

We're trying to reach our goal of seeing Dave have 5000 followers on Facebook, so we're running a promotion that one of our new followers will get a free signed copy of his first album on Greenleaf, Mountain Passages, if we reach 5000. We have a lot more in store for you this fall, so get clicking.
