Free track: The Gulf, ten years later

We’re sharing a FREE Dave Douglas track from the album Orange Afternoons, which features Ravi Coltrane, Vijay Iyer, Linda May Han Oh, and Marcus Gilmore. Here’s Dave’s note on why we’re releasing it now:

Ten years since the enormous spill in the Gulf Of Mexico. It was a horrible event and a real tragedy. Communities still suffering, as we now encounter our surest crisis.

I wrote this piece in response as I read the news of the spill every day. I am grateful to these players for bringing the empathy so vividly to light. Enjoy this piece, from a Greenleaf album called Orange Afternoons, with appropriate physical distancing. Stay at home. Stop the spread. Keep music in your heart and spread the love of community and family now and forever.
