Big band albums from Manuel Valera and Mike Fahie out today

It’s so great to release two great big band albums today, led by pianist Manuel Valera and trombonist Mike Fahie!

José Martí en Nueva York features Valera’s New Cuban Express Big Band performing his song cycle inspired by Cuban writer José Martí. Featuring vocals by Sofia Rei and Camila Meza, and arrangements that range from traditional Cuban music to modern Latin jazz.

Urban(e), is an album of Fahie’s jazz interpretations of classical repertoire featuring works by Stravinsky, Puccini, Chopin, and more. Reimagined by Fahie and his eighteen piece band, standout soloists include Chet Doxas, Jennifer Wharton, and Randy Ingram.
