The Checkout, A Noise From The Deep, and Jazz United all come together to celebrate Other Worlds on Greenleaf Music, a new recording from the quintet Sound Prints, co-led by Joe Lovano and Dave Douglas. The episode features the saxophonist and trumpeter along with Lawrence Fields (piano) and Joey Baron (drums). Jazz United’s Nate Chinen hosts a listening party where they talk about their influences, where the band got its name, and the group’s collective interest in space travel, musical and otherwise. Sound Prints kicks-off a four night run at Birdland on the day of this podcast release.
