RE: Rock The Route

Well, I’m back in the office this fine Monday morning after my tour out west with Red Bull. I’m going through the 739 emails this morning. If you wrote to us, give me a minute to get back to you. I’ll get through them all by the end of the day.

PhotobucketThe tour was a great experience. Met a lot of really cool people, played some great shows, had a guitar shootout in a ghost town in New Mexico, a firework fight, hung out with some farm animals (pictured: Pet Sounds style), rode on the Red Bull bus, the crappy van, and so much more. I’ve seen a few shots, and I have to say that this show is going to be hilariously awesome.

I was hoping to update from the road, but with our shooting schedule, it was a little hectic. But the gigs all went well, and we got to get to know the other band, Young Jesus, who, after 5 shows in a row (the longest tour they’ve ever had) were hitting it pretty hard. It’s amazing what a week on the road will do to solidify a band. Even us, a band who’s been touring off and on for awhile.

I just published a blog post over at the BMA site with some final thoughts on the week. Other info from the week is linked over there if you’d care to read.

Unfortunately, I’m contractually obligated not to go into detail or tell who won — can’t be the spoiler before the TV show airs — but I will say that it was an unbelievable week, and that I can’t wait for my next trip to LA.

Good to be home.
