OUT NOW: New Album ‘New Moon’ by the Arun Aramamurthy Trio
We are thrilled to release New Moon, the newest album from the Arun Ramamurthy Trio, and their debut for Greenleaf Music.
Alongside Arun, the trio features bassist Damon Banks and drummer Sameer Gupta, a longtime collaborator.

New Moon is the group’s second release and it’s clear from listening to the album that the members are in a place of musical ease and connection – the chemistry is palpable. There’s a genuine sense of spontaneity, with the ensemble poised to adjust at any moment, all aware, all ready. Carnatic music and jazz are kindred spirits in the philosophy of awareness amongst musicians, as well as in the love and reverence for the elders, those who shaped us and our music. Arun Ramamurthy Trio’s New Moon presents musical practitioners at the height of their craft, seamlessly blending Carnatic traditions with jazz, pushing both genres forward in exciting ways.
