Julieta Eugenio


Julieta Eugenio is an Argentinian saxophonist based in New York city. As she developed as a musician, she embedded herself into the Argentinian jazz scene and performed in renowned jazz venues in Buenos Aires alongside master musicians. After moving to New York City in 2013, she completed her Masters degree from Queens College in 2015 , and has since become a part of the city’s vibrant music scene. She has had the opportunity to perform and record alongside outstanding musicians including David Kikoski, Eric Reed, Philip Harper, and Leon Parker. She has shared the stage with the jazz legend Johnny O’Neal as a featured guest in residencies at Smoke Jazz club, Ginny’s Super Club, Smalls Jazz club, Mezzrow and more.

In April 2017, Julieta Eugenio won the International Women in Jazz Competition as a member of the SIJ trio and performed as part of festival that year in NYC. In October 2021, she performed a two week residency at the Joyce Theater with the Eyal Vilner Big Band as part of the SWING OUT series.

Julieta recorded her debut album in March 2021 with her trio including bassist Matt Dwonszyk and drummer Jonathan Barber. JUMP, released on March 4th, 2022, features Julieta’s original compositions as well some choice jazz standards. Julieta and the trio won the 2022 DCJazzPrix International Band Competition following the album’s release.
