I agree with the above: Entwistle clearly over Jones - his stoicism while Townsend and Moon were destroying the stage and their instruments by his side was giving The Who such an interesting image. And his basslines are not just lines, they are wonderful melodies.
Though on the other hand, I must say, the work John Paul Jones did with Diamanda Galás back in the 90s on "Sporting Life" is not to be missed either.

That is tough, the only edge you can grant outright is Entwhistle over Jones as a Bassist, but then JPJ did so much more for Zep than just play bass, like step into the breach on In Through The Out Door when Page didn't appear to be up to it. Plus he IS alive.

Haha! That's about as silly as it gets. They need a keyboard player for sure. Or maybe a second guitarist. Buckethead maybe?

Entwistle all the way!!

There's also a much sillier rock super group out right now that is "Chickenfeet" featuring Joe Satriani (Eddie Van Halen's teacher), Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Chad Smith(Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Sammy Hagar(Van Halen).
